The buzzard sun -
Hovered and dipped
Serenely behind
The Sierras.
The day flagged and died,
Festooned with flights
Of swallows,
And then said,
"Hola!"
To the sheep black
Flocked night.
The moon crescented and wan,
Arose,
Peeking languidly
Through becottened fluff,
Spying the earthly paroxysms
Of mendacious fools,
Gaming deathly,
As if war
Ever helped
Solve the problems
Of this beauteous globe.
Then darkness voided all
And the same
Trenched, mudded hell
Arrived,
With the bodies of truth
And innocence
Strewn
Callously around,
On the barbed wire of deceit
That Ghandi noted is -
´Western Civilisation.´
